Location

Located in the North west of Myanmar, in the Kanpetlet-
Mindut- Matupi Township of Chin state.

Approach
Approach up 9,000 ft by
car and then climb up to the mountain peak about three
and a
half hours walk, which is suitable for soft Adventure.
From Yangon to Chuck about
(400 miles) by car. Then to Kanpetlet about (72 miles) by
car
Characteristic
(a) Enjoy attractive
scenes of natural springs amidst intact vegetation and also
the farmed-hillsides adjoining the unaltered forests.

the peak of Natmataung (Mt. Victoria) on jungle trails.

the unique mountain ecosystem with diverse plant communities.

more than 280 species of birds, many species of butterflies,
wild
orchids and rhododendrons.

the watershed areas of Lemro River, Myitha River, Saw
Chaung,
Maw Chaung, Salin Chuaung, Che Chaung, Yow Chaung, Mon
Chaung, etc.

the scenic beauty of natural forests.
(c) To conserve
Mountain Ecosystem and prohibit illicit hunting.
(d) To preserve
5 species of rare birds that can be found only in Myanmar,
other
native and migratory birds their habitats.
(e) To preserve
rare species of Myanmar Orchids.
(f) To educate
local people to shift from practicing shifting cultivation
to
cultivating perennial plants and trees.
(g) To promote
and upgrade the park as an ecotourism attraction.
(h) To attract
tourists with water rafting and rapid-shooting during
the rainy
season while the river flow is rapid.
Wild Life
Mammals such as tiger, bear, wild boar,
leopard, goar, serow, gibbon, etc. and 159 bird species,
reptiles and butterfly are present.

(a) Education
and prohibiting of shifting cultivation in the protected
areas.
(b) Inventory
of forest flora.
(c) Study and
research on bird species and their natural habitats.
(d) Establishment
of modern Forest Village with the assistance of rule people
to
initiate a permanent Taungya planning system with perennial
plants.
(e) Conducting
a field survey and inventory to promote and upgrade the
park for
ecotourism industry.
Opportunities for Study and Recreation
(a) Recreation
and viewing of the natural mountain scenery.
(b) Visiting
the third highest Mountain in Myanmar which is (10018)
feet high, and
hiking a distance of 15 miles from the old Kan-pet-let
city, or driving 10 miles
by car from Kan-pet-let city and hiking another 5 miles
to the mountain.
(c) Observation
of 159 bird species including 5 indigenous species and
also
Blyth's Tragopan, a very rare species.
(d) Participation
in organized Orchid Tours where the most attractive Myanmar
Orchids exist.
(e) Observing
the traditional and cultural heritage of Chin people and
their living
systems.
(f) Observing
the natural forest and trees, especially Rhodoendron arboreum.

Note : The best time to go is from late October to mid of
May.
This site is restricted area; therefore we need to apply
the permit to the government. That's why, if you would
like to visit this site you should inform us at least
two-months prior to your trip's target date.
