Pindaya Trekking

          Well known for it's extensive limestone caves and picturesque Boutaloke lake. The scenic Aungban-Pindaya road passes through the Pa-O and Danu villages of Pwehla and Ji-Chanzi. There are fields of dry-cultivated mountain rice along the way and potato fields where the tuber is grown in red mud mounds. Pindaya itself is a center for the Burmese-speaking Taung-yo people. Local handicrafts include Shan paper and parasols made from mulberry bark. The town’s symbol is a pin-gu (spider). According to legend, seven princesses bathing in the lake took refuge in the caves during a storm where they were imprisoned by a giant spider.Then they were saved by a prince and when the spider died the prince shouted that " I got spider , I got spider " and it is in Myanmar language is "Pin Ku Ya" then it was gradually changed into Pindaya .There are many attractive places in Pindaya for trekking and ethnic study.

Location
It is situated is southern Shan state and Eastern side of Myanmar.

Weather
Annual rainfall is always under 45 inches. Fresh and pleasantly cool environment.

Scenery
The cave is situated about 5000' above sea level . The whole area of the city is about 3880' above sea level.

Pindaya Cave
It is the lime stone cave and dating back over (200)millions years ago. The cave is situated (5000)feet above sea level, and the town is about (3880)above sea level. The cave is about (490)feet long and it is the great collection of many Buddha statues. Visitors who want to study about the ancient architecture technique of the tribes and their traditional belief and culture.

Colorful Hill tribes
The main hill tribes of the town is Taung Yoe and Pa O, Danu and other sub tribes of Shan are living here .Their main economic is the agriculture (terrace methods )making paper umbrella by traditional methods ,bamboo paper making ,dry tea leaves production ,dry soy bean slice production ,and other agriculture products making.
