What dose Mandalay means?
The name of Mandalay is originally driven from "Mandala" which means broaden and pleasure land among the cities, but some scholars deduced that the city name is given after the name of Mandalay hill, which is situated near the city. But the official name of the city is "Yadana Pone" which means a pile of gems.
