Chaung Tha Beach!!
The meaning of the beach name itself is "The Pleasant Creek". Sure, it is one of the peace and pleasant beach of Myanmar. Visitor may study about the nearby islands and way of life of the local people.

Ever wonder what the view is like? It is a beach for those who love basking in the sun, diving or swimming. It is a very cnvenient drive from Yang on. Yang on via Pathein taking about 5 hours.

How to Get There
Chaung-Thar beach is located 40 km to the west of Pathein (Bassein) in Ayeyarwaddy Division. It is about 5 hours drive from Yangon via Pathein to Chaung-Thar beach. There are bungalow type hotels along the beach with modern facilities.

Thebyu Island
The island is one mile long and diagonally across Phokalar Island. Looking sideways from the beach, the islets appear white. Thought Thebyu literally means "white sand", it is not formed with white sand. The islet is formed by oysters and shells carried and piked up by tidal waves. Besides savoring scenic beauty, visitors many go sightseening in the neighboring village and study fishing industry, the livelihood of the local people.

Pathein
Capital of the delta region, and gate way to chaungtha and Ngwe Sung. It is well known as the "Granary of Myanmar". The main products are paddy, sesames, groundnuts, and jute, maze, pulses, tobacco, etc. The city is also famous for it's unique attraction of hand make umbrellas.

Tunte
24 km from Yang on on the tunte canal. A craft drive across the Yang on river and one hour car drive can reach. Pottery is the major cottage industry. Shwesandaw pagoda, Oh-bo pottery shed, Baung daw gyoke pagoda, Snake temple, Kandaw Mingalar Lake and weavers are among the interesting sites.
